Small Cell Facilities

City of Troy recognizes the need to encourage wireless infrastructure investment and the digitization of and more efficient management of small cell systems as systems advance while providing reasonable regulations for the placement, expansion, height, and maintenance of small cell facilities in order to protect the public welfare, health, safety and interests of the City's citizens in its implementation.

Ordinance 401 - Adopting Regulations For Small Cell Facilities In The City Of Troy - does this by setting out an application process including timelines and defined fees, reasonable factors considered in awarding approval, clear and reasonable prohibitions, and objective and reasonable design standards.

Applicants are encouraged to engage in early active coordination with the City of Troy prior to Small Cell Site Permit Application submittals. The Small Cell Site review team consists of the Planning, Utilities, and Building & Inspections Departments.

The Planning Department will serve as the gatekeeper of all application documentation. Applications with all required documentation are to be sent to the City of Troy, Planning Department, 306 E. Academy St, PO Box 549, Troy, AL 36081.  Applications and documents can also be sent via email.

Small Cell Application review and approval by the Small Cell Site review team is required before application and issuance of any building or applicable permits.
