Business Licensing

A current business license is required to conduct business within the City of Troy and Police Jurisdiction. The Municipal Business License Application can be found HERE. 

Your business license is good for one calendar year. Renewal letters are mailed out each December. The payment deadline is January 1st with a grace period until January 31st of each year.  If you are no longer doing business in the City of Troy and wish to terminate or render your business license inactive, please write "Business Closed" or "No Business at This Time" respectively in order to avoid penalties. 

Fees are based on a Fee Schedule which can be found HERE. Our Revenue Officer will work with you to determine your annual fee.

Once you obtain a business license, an application for Utilities to transfer power into the business name may be submitted.
